Experience the magic of a manta ray night snorkel in Kona—one of the most unique and unforgettable adventures on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Our small-group tour is designed to give you a more personal, relaxed experience away from the crowds. With a maximum of just 12 guests, you’ll have plenty of space, attentive guidance, and incredible up-close views of Kona’s resident manta rays.

Departing from Honokohau Harbor, we have the flexibility to choose the best manta ray snorkel site each evening based on ocean conditions and manta activity. Your trip begins with a scenic sunset cruise along the Kona coastline before arriving at the snorkel location.

Once in the water, you’ll float comfortably at the surface while holding onto our custom light board. The light attracts plankton, which draws manta rays in to feed—often bringing them within inches of you. Watching these gentle giants glide effortlessly below is an experience that feels both surreal and deeply peaceful.

This Kona manta ray night snorkel is beginner-friendly and does not require advanced swimming skills. As long as you’re comfortable in the water with a mask and snorkel, our experienced guides will be there to support you every step of the way.

Manta sightings in Kona are highly reliable. On the rare event you do not see mantas during your tour, you’re welcome to join us again on another night.

 

WHATS INCLUDED:

  • Snorkeling equipment- Wetsuit tops, waist flotation devices, and all snorkel gear are included with your tour. If you prefer your own mask, snorkel, or wetsuit, feel free to bring and use them.

 

WHAT WE SUGGEST YOU BRING:

  • A reusable water bottle- Help us cut down on single-use plastics by bringing your own bottle to stay hydrated.
  • A towel- You’ll want one after your swim! Custom towel ponchos are also available for purchase at checkout.
  • Swimwear- Please arrive in something suitable for swimming. Wetsuit tops will be provided.
  • Prescription snorkel mask- We do not provide prescription masks. If you need one, you must bring your own or rent one in advance.
